Can you store feed in a chest type deep freeze?

Looking to stock up on feed and someone mentioned that I needed to find a broke freezer to store it in so the mice dont get it. Seems like a perfect storage. anyone use one to store their feed in?

We use old chest freezers and old refrigerators ~ which come in handy if you are storing two types of feed since you can use both the frig and the freezer sections.

We've used them both under a roof and 'in the weather'. Found out the hard way that broke and free is great, but make sure the seal works well if you don't keep them covered. One batch of sour mash swarming with mealy worms was enough to convince us to spend a few bucks on seals. Lol, the chickens loved the bugs, but I wouldn't want to waste that much feed again to grow some extra protein!

It seems to me that storing the feed for a long time in a sealed container would promote spoilage.
