Can you take a chicken trick or treating?

So, I have some silkies my 4 year old wants to take for her costume, in a pet carrier bag, she wants to take 2 of the silkies, Let me explain, kira wants to be a farmer for halloween so I am letting her, but now she wants to take the silkies because "they're special". So I read up a bit and something bout CDC, we will be giving the chickens a bath the day of halloween if we are aloud, my fear is the chickens will be stressed out but our neighborhood is super small and mostly everyone owns chickens, so can the chickens get stressed out? This is pretty important to kira, since she is only 4 so she really wants to do it, but not if it is gonna hurt the chickens! Thanks.

Are they tame? I don't see an issue with her bringing them if they're used to her.

I hope you post pictures if possible because this sounds like the most adorable costume ever. I'd give her my whole bowl of candy

Thanks, I was going to dress the silkies up to of course, its quite easy, making little hats out of fabric or paper, even cardboard!, I'm going to dress up the white one as a bunny and the buff as a bear.

Your choice, but every 4yo I've ever known tends to run a lot on Halloween...or jump, or hop, just out of excitement. Personally, I would leave the live chickens at home and go for the stuffed toy variety.

Like I said neighborhood is small so we have to drive to houses, I will be holding her hand while walking up to the driveways for safety reasons, if the chickens seem stressed or scared I will just take them back. Thank you for the warning though!

A chicken stroller would be ideal!

Chickens, like other animals, can get adapt to the various unnatural situations humans create for them. I think that Silkies, being an often pampered breed, may be subject to this even more than other breeds and can take it in stride. Surely we put our commercial flocks to a lot more stress than pet (or show) chickens receive.
