can you tell a cockeral by tiny spurs....

My two week old chicks have little tiny spurs...does that mean they are Roo's???
I have never heard of being able to tell by this method...it just seems too easy....

Nope, they all have the bumps. Cockerels dont really grow actual spurs for many months.

Nope...pullets and cockerals both have those tiny little bumps......cockerals take months for theirs to mature, I know alot longer than it takes a pullet to lay an egg!!....

he came from an austrolop or rir rooster...they had various hens....

What color are it's feet? Australorps have black legs. But since it is a mix that may not mean anything.

Elf 's legs are dark and he has 4 toes...seems to be feathering out gray...I will take a new pic of him since he is now almost two weeks...I will try and post it tomorrow...
