My chick is 5 weeks old, I have no idea what kind it is. Got it from the rainbow pullet bin (Meyer hatchery) at my local feed store. It loves to climb on me, let me pet it, and flies to the highest point it can get to. In my past experience, this is typical of ALL of my past roosters. Any experts care to wager a guess?

Oh thank God. Thanks everyone! I am hoping and praying it's a lavender orpington. I have two of them that are identical. The other one is slower to feather, and under her feathers she is all yellow, which makes me think lavender orp.

MMM doesn't carry Lavender Orps, if that's where your baby came from. :) Besides, it appears to be a light blue, rather than lavender. Only single-combed, blue breed I can see on their website is the Blue Andalusian.

So far, nothing's screaming cockerel! :D

Young pullets and cockerels alike can be very affectionate. It just depends on individual personality. :love

Oops! I meant Meyer hatchery! Not MacMurray.
