Can you tell egg color?

Ok, so according to this article, you can tell the color egg your hen is going to lay by the color of her earlobe.
It's on the internet, so it must be true, right?

Its sometimes true.

Ok well 1) you shouldn't believe everything you see on the internet and 2) that's not always the case. Sometimes hens lay different colors that their earlobe color.

Well if an EE lays dark brown it's not like it's earlobe would be dark brown. And golden comets have red earlobes, it does not mean they lay red eggs

I guess it could be true in some breeds. Though not always. For instance, silkies have blue earlobes but do not lay blue eggs. Many chickens have red earlobes, but I've never seen a chicken that lays red eggs.

I have a have a couple ladies with white earlobes that lay light brown, so earlobes aren't entirely connected to egg color.

I didn't think so. Sorry if I came off as rude, I just wanted to be informative. This is only true in some cases though.
