Th Brabanters are a very "flashy" chicken type. They are intelligent and
good foragers. The hens are very tame and calm. One of my roosters is a big fluff and the other is very protective (but manageable). They are dependable layers of white eggs except when molting .
The Oloffs are very unique in appearance. They are a large breed and also good foragers. My rooster is VERY sweet! The hens are feisty and comical, and good winter layers of light brown eggs.
Both breeds are hardy and suited to Maine weather if they have shelter.
Both breeds are endangered.
It would be hard for me to choose one! If I had to keep just one I would keep the Orloffs,
Bu,t that's not happening so I'll keep both!
