Can you tell me about our Little Popcorn

Ok first I raise silkies and I'm very knowledgeable about the breed. It is very hard to tell the sex of silkies, but I would say you have a pullet. How old is the bird?

This was taken on June 13th, the day we got her.

As best we can tell, she is about 11-12 weeks old. The guy we bought her from, got her in a surprise run and had no idea what she even was.

He appears to be a cockerel. I see streamers (long, thin feathers coming out of the back of the crest, an exclusively male trait), and that much comb and even wattle growth at that age leads me to say so.

I was thinking pullet but now I say cockerel.I didn't think the bird was that old.

Ohhh...I so did not want to hear that. I live in the city limits and cannot legally have a Roo. We are new to chickens. This makes 3 out of 3 males we bought from the same man who sold them as pullets. Lesson learned.....buy from a known reputable seller. Does this breed have a loud crow?

It depends on the bird. My roosters, however, crow just as loud as my LF roosters, they simply have a higher pitched one.

Thanks for the help. I appreciate your knowledge

Have them canonized. They become calmer and they loose there crow(or at least mine did). Its illegal to keep roosters in my city if you do not have them fixed. It only costed me $20 a roo.Hope you can keep him.:)
