Well Wyandottes have single combs hatch out from time to time... people say they are good to keep around because breeding them into your birds increases fertility. At least, that is what I have heard

Is there a blue Wyandotte? Maybe this is what has happened???

Boy now I'm even more curious as to what I have. I can't wait to see the other four...going to check on them now...should have another chick soon! They pipped early this morning. I bet they all hatch while I SLEEP!

I see she has a pic of chicks that look like they are blue and buff...... but it doesn't say what they are

Regardless, that's a pretty bird! And those are cute chicks

I would imagine there are not many large breed blue birds here in the US..... possibly it was sold as an Orp.... and because it looks very much like one... people just went with it

I'd like to get some Blue Wyandottes! GORGEOUS!!!!

this one kind of looks black...at least while it's wet it does. Perfect baby! I'm posting a pic in a sec here.

SO again..now that the other two are dryer..heres a new picture of number one...this one has a cute little tail that the others do not have...at least not yet.

And number 2 he looks more blue to me. but no button tail like the first one had.

I can't stay up any longer lol One more check on the eggs and then it's off to bed! Three down, three pips to go! I would love to get 100% hatch from them! I will update tomorrow with pics and if I got a hold of western chick.

I've got blue wyandottes. I know they weren't as yellow as #1 chick tho. I'll have to see if I've got any pix from when they first hatched. I'll tell you tho, my blue rocks had a lot of yellow on them when they hatched out like #2 chick. I'm thinking you've got some cute, but mixed chicks.

Well I had two more hatch and they look more like a silver color...I moved them all the the brooder now so it will be easier to take some pictures...still seems like the silvery one has a little light blue down the back. SO 5 out of 6 hatched and one more to go...it's pipped and I'm expecting him to hatch any time...it pipped late in the evening last night. If it hatches then I will get 100% hatch rate with them

I"m going to take some pictures now. Will post them in a bit here.
