NOTE: SEE UPDATED PICS BELOW AT 2 1/2 weeks old.

I would really love one splash and one blue out of the six eggs I have hatching right now. Two are already hatched but I have NO clue now what they are. I thought they were splash but someone said she didn't think they were. What are they? I am suppose to have blue/black/splash orps. The blues and blacks aren't that light are they? HELP! If anyone has pics of their baby splash or blues can they post them please??

UPDATED PICTURES AT 2 1/2 weeks old on 7/26/08 there will be 2 pictures of each (6 chickens total) Sorry, I was planning on getting them on here yesterday. Finally got to it!


Here is one of the splash (who looks pure white)

Here is a violet looking one also a splash.

Here is another splash this is the one that hatched first with the blue stripe down it's back

Here is the blue boy (no tail feathers and he has the biggest comb)

Here are the two black ones...one almost sort of looks to be a splash (the first one)?

HERE IS THE UPDATED PICS OF JUST ONE OF THEM>>>IT'S THE VIOLET LOOKING ONE AND SHE NOW HAS WHITE LEGS???IS THIS THAN CONSIDERED A SPLASH ORP? I will take a pic of the other splash girl later tomorrow. I only kept the two splashes. I can get a picture of the blue boy too...my friend has him and he's CUTE. The black that looked like a splash ended up with a mottled front chest. Very cute but confusing too.

Are you sure they're even Orps?? I dont recognize the colors. Definitely NOT splash or blue or black, either. hmm. The one in my hand below is a splash and the other one is blue:

Are you sure they are orpingtons? They do not look like BBS coloring.

Hmmm. They look a lot like our Blue Laced Red Wyandotte chicks looked like, but certainly not like any Orpington I have ever seen... You could check the comb to confirm or deny the Wyandotte theory. l
