Can you tell me what they are?

That is good to know. I built a chicken tractor for them. I don't know how old they are but they are supposedly adults but I don't know if she has started to lay. I have only had her a couple of days. I put some hay onto the roosting area so that if she decides to she can get up there and lay. I made it wide enough for her to sit there, Seems they like to sit instead of roosting on the ledge like I thought they would do. I have not seen any type of breeding activity, that I recognized as breeding anyway. I assume he has to mount her. Do they prefer privacy?? Or maybe they just do that every so often? My friend said they were doing it at her house. Any suggestions on things to assure she does lay? Can I eventually put larger hens with them? Like araucanas? I would like to have a couple. Would he breed a larger hen? Would it be better to keep them seperated? Thanks.

I've kept my standards and bantams together with no problems what so ever. Yes he will breed with the larger hens. Most chickens do not lay well until they have 14 hours of daylight a day. Sometimes roosters favor some hens over others, but if he was breeding with her at your friends house, than I would say he is still doing it, you just haven't seen them yet.
