If you got a grown adult hen is there any way to tell how old she really is? And is it 'normal' for an old bird to start laying eggs with no shell? I have all the extra oyster shells available to them and yet I have 1 chicken who is laying eggs with no shells. I'm not sure which one it is so I've started the process of elimination by separating the group into 2 groups and based on where the squishy egg is laid I'll know which group and then keep dividing up until I find out who it is.
Any help with aging a chicken would be great....if there is a way.
