Can you tell us what our new duck is?

Hello, we joined the forum and have a lot of duck questions.

We were given this call duck (our first call) and would love to know more about her, such as what color she is considered to be, and if you think she is of any sort of show quality.
She was given to my son as a potential 4_H project.
This may be a silly question, but do ducks need to be registered to breed and show?

I agree with the above guesses. Poultry do not have to be registered to show like goats etc. When you show a bird the goal is to have it weigh, look like, and generally match the Standard of Perfections description.

She wouldn't do good at a aba apa show but at county fair shows yes. Her legs are a tad to long and her head an bill could be better! I would look for a good male on eggbid or something to breed to she has fairly good color could be a little richer though but I would look at wapsiwaterfowl.com and get a few pictures to go by or callducks.org and get a few ideas!
