Can you train a dog to be chicken-friendly?

I have a couple chickens, and my neighbor has a Boxer dog. He does NOT play well with the chickens. I think he thinks they are either food, or a toy. We've been trying to work with him but not letting him be able to get to the chickens. I'd like to not worry about it and let the chickens roam the yard but we have to confine them so the dog doesn't eat them or chase them. Does anyone have any experience training the prey drive out of a dog at least for chickens?

sure can... but I say your neighbour should not let their dog get into your side of the fence and you the same, don't let your chickens got to their side. Problem solved.

What kind of an area do you live in? The neighbors dog shouldn't be in your yard.
And if it is, then he should be on a leash if the neighbor is over for a visit.
Its your property not the neighbors.
