I keep hens for eggs but would like to add a couple young males to keep for a few weeks/months for meat. Do they need to be kept separate from the hens? Will they get along? I don't know much about chicken social behavior/rules and don't want to cause any problems. Any other suggestions regarding having a few chickens for meat?

Since you won't be keeping the boys for very long time, I would suggest keeping them separate. I don't know how old the cockerels are that you mention in your question but why bother with the upheaval of introducing new birds into the pecking order if they are just going to be taken out of the flock when you process them. Can you house them separately?
