In a couple of months we'll start seeing wild geese around my house. My chickens aren't free ranging, but would they get along with wild geese if they were ? The geese come to my yard ( I live on a canal ) foraging, and I'm wondering what type of entertainment to expect.

As lollipop stated it shouldn't be a problem. We have chickens and the Canadian Geese. Last year the Geese raised 5 of their own they didn't bother each other. They are back and often venture up to where the chickens are and the chickens often head to where they are too in the evenings. Haven't seen any problems other the past 2 years.

I have wild turkeys year round that travel through my property and they only chase the chickens during mating season. Outside of mating season, the chickens will give the turkeys a wide berth. I think the chickens are intimidated because of their size. Occasionally the Canadian Geese will visit for a short time but have never caused any problems.
