They are beautiful. We only get them in fly-over in this part of the country. Our Toulouse geese stand there and watch them fly over with that "how did they get way up there" look on their face.

Oh! I just LOVE Canadian geese! Always have. Their coloration is so beautiful. And when we were lucky enough to briefly live overlooking Howe Sound there was a family of them who lived just below us.

Every morning we could see the gander lead her goslings down to the water and swim east and every evening we could watch them swim back to the tiny park just below us where they lived. There the goose would watch the surroundings, his neck tall and straight, his body rigid. Only his head turning to be ready to alert his family of danger as they routed through the grassy flat for their dinner.

Week after week we watched them grow. They felt like family to us. BUT, let me tell you, you do NOT want to be caught having to cross an icy spot with a nice slick of goose poo on it (that sh#t don't freeze!)! That may be the primary reason Canada has National Health!
