CANADA GOOSE BREEDERS (I found LEGAL breeders!)

Pics
I won't have any eggs until possibly next year, since they're seasonal layers. I have a lot of people on my list for eggs but I can put you on anyway if you're interested. That way if any orders should fall through you could move up.
Hello,
Do you have a website? Or fb where we can see your breeder flocks? What state do you live in? I'd love to potentially do business with you next year! I hope you are having a great Sunday!

Hi! I do not, no. I have pictures of most of my birds but not any recent ones. My pair of Canada geese hatched 3 babies this year, and I plan on keeping them back and breeding them as well next year. So hopefully each pair will double clutch.
I am in South Dakota. I do have a pretty long list of people on my waiting list for Canada geese, I had no idea they'd be so popular!
Hope you had a good weekend too.

I'm interested, but it wouldn't be for a couple of years. I'm just here right now to learn a bit.
@MGG , just to make sure I understand:

To OWN Canadian geese, you need a permit. You get that permit by legally buying from seller with SALE permits.

To SELL Canadian geese, you need the permits to own and to sell.

Correct?

To each and every person who owns a Canada Goose :

Since all Canadian geese belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II , please tell the geese that now they are under the protection of King Charles III.

Ps: Please be kind to them because they might be in shock after they realize who the King Charles III really is.

Thank You

To own Canada geese, you just need the notice of transfer slip given to you when you purchase the birds. It needs to have all sections filled out correctly, obviously. You are ok to let them breed and hatch/raise babies, but you can not sell the babies, release them, or give them away.

To breed and sell Canada geese, you have to have the transfer slip given to you when you purchased them, apply for your state waterfowl sale and disposal permit, and then once you receive your state permit apply for the federal migratory waterfowl sale and disposal permit. That usually takes a couple months to go through. Once you get that, you are clear to breed and sell. You then have to fill out the notice of transfer slips to give to each buyer and turn in copies to the USFWS each time you sell, and send in a record of what you hatched, lost, sold, and bought at the end of each year.

Okay.

Probably a silly question, but can you process the ones you raise? Or is that the disposal paperwork?

Wow! I had no idea it was such a process! Sounds like a pain hah :hugs seems worth it though. We have Canadian geese at a local pond near us and I just love them ❤️ Ducks too but the geese are so cool ❤️

I thought it was all unclaimed swans in Emgland and Wales she owned. I'm seeing nothing about Canadian geese

You explained it much better then I did and with much more detail. Ty!
Have you ever encountered any paperwork/law/Info on hybrids? For example, if my Canada female were to mate with my African male and they had offspring, would I have to report that offspring? Would I have to get the same permit to sell hybrid goslings? I'm just curious because so far, all other breeders who I have spoken to, say you don't need to report the hybrids... And 1 warden seemed to say the same... But being married to a 100% disabled veteran, and dealing with the US GOV regularly has taught me to always keep asking and researching. So far, I haven't found anything on it. Any opinions or experience/input?

I absolutely don't know, but I would assume yes, you would. Because it has that blood in it. I think the same goes for turkeys
