I know it's a long shot but we're looking for someone to take in a juvenile Canada goose with angel wing. We've been unable to find a sanctuary for her and were hoping to find someone who may be able to take her in. Keep in mind that Canada geese can be seized without a permit to own them, which is why we can't keep her. If you had the right set up, you might be able to make it work without. She is extremely friendly and sweet. She loves people though she is not human imprinted. Loves other geese and ducks too. We want her to go somewhere she will be happy, loved and safe - as a pet only. In New Hampshire, but willing to travel.

I think she's probably about 6 months old - definitely born this year. Thanks for replying, gives me hope that maybe someone will want her :)

If we didn't have to be back the same day we'd make the trip to Georgia... but for anyone else who may be within the 5 or so hour range, we could get her to you.

Yup - very. You'd almost think she's human imprinted (but we know she isn't.) She'll follow you around, sit on your lap, we always get a big greeting. We tried taping her wing to fix the angel wing and she's not only extremely cooperative, she trills because she just loves any and all attention!

She sounds so precious. I hope she finds a wonderful, loving home. We have a darling little crossbeak bantam EE roo that we are trying to rehome, and I know it is so stressful worrying if a beloved creature will find a peaceful, loving family to care for them. Good luck!

I saw your post and was moved by the amount of care you put in for him. He is absolutely adorable and I wish I could help. Have you tried calling farm sanctuaries in your area? Even if they're full, they may be able to help spread the word and find the perfect home for him. Thank you for the kinds words and best of luck to you too!

Hey, AngelGoose, thank you for your loving words above. He is very sweet. The sanctuaries near here never seem to want roos (tried them in the past with unexpected roosters, 2/3 of unsexed Bantam Easter Eggers were male, with no special needs, and finally found families for them ourselves), yet maybe will try again for little Buckbeak. It only takes about 5 minutes to feed him, should update that in the post, so it isn't that much extra work (and tube feeding is less scary than it sounds with proper training). Your lovely thoughts are appreciated. Happy day! 🐔❤️

Hello! I’m in North Carolina and volunteer at a waterfowl sanctuary that would be happy to take her in. I am willing to drive up to Virginia if that is possible and when time permits. I would be willing to drive farther but my work schedule is hectic. I could probably find another party to intercept her closer to you if you’re interested.

There's a good chance I'm driving from MA to FL for Christmas. I'd be willing to take a goosey passenger, as long as I don't run afoul (pun intended) of the law!
