CANADA heads to the Polls Oct 14.

As the Poulty Party,eh, we could lower the price of feed, eh but make sure the farmers that grow it get lots and lots of money, cause we would take it from the other politicans that don't need to be rich, and then don't have the farmers pay any taxes,eh and then we could sell our poultry and make lots and lots of money and we wouldn't have to tell anyone where we are getting so rich from and we could sell to our neighbours all of our home grown meat chicks and turkeys and then no one would even know about it eh, and then we could lower the price of gas so we could run to town and buy all the cheep cheep feed!!!!!!!!

I wish I could vote for Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate, he would be my true choice, but sometimes you just have to try and vote for the lesser of two great evils so that the greatest evil has less of a chance of winning.... and that's why I'm holding my nose and voting for John McCain.

In all my years so far in any election, federal, provincial or civil I have only enthusiastically voted for someone once. It's the norm for me to vote against someone by selecting the other most likely candidate. It sure would be nice to have candidates worth voting for on a regular basis instead of backing this one because he is predicted to do less damage than the other.

McCain wouldn't make it as a politician up here. He has neither the charisma or solid character that CANADIAN'S look for.

And just for your info, SATAN has told me OBAMA will be your next president. And it was NOT his doing. Both Lucifer & God have no influence on polictics. It's one of the few things they agree on.

I think it's interesting . . . back in high school my SO lived in foreign countries, and his correspondence made me much more knowledgeable about world politics because it was something that was discussed in those countries . . . foreign politics affects everyone, so view the world with a wider lens, that sort of thing. America seems so isolated from the rest of the world, both geographically and also by bull-headed choice. Europeans don't really have the same choice we do, since they're surrounded by so many languages, ideals, and cultures, they're forced to consider things beyond their borders a lot more. I think our decision making abilities would be more rational and better overall if we were more aware of the world around us, including the election process, or lack thereof, in other countries. I personally know plenty of people who wouldn't consider Canada a "real" foreign country . . . I've often heard it described as the cheap K-mart version of America, which I think is totally unfair and, quite frankly, rather stupid. But after reading this thread I've realized I know very little about Canada . . . call me a victim of the American mentality, since I seem to have made the mistake of many others and simply glossed over Canada in my consideration of world affairs. I want to thank the OP for bringing this to my attention . . . and since I seem to have typed a very long response in order to explain how I have nothing to really add to this discussion, I'll scurry away quickly with my new found enthusiasm and find materials to read on the Canadian political process.

One thing I do know about Canadians . . . they tend to think every critter in Texas is venomous and that it's devilishly hot here. Aren't I just the font of knowledge?

The biggest wake up I got concerning politics and political positioning was while living and working in South America. The news stories in U.S. papers about what was going on in countries I worked in was so removed from the truth it was incredible.

Having lived/worked in the U.S.A. and Canada, I can honestly say they are very different countries when it comes to politics.
