Canadian Breeder list

ah, my families are brits as well as my Simon (via Denmark no less). Lots of brit here.

I thought I had seen 2 girls but then some people leave boys hair long and it throws me... trying to be politically correct! lol

Hi Guys,
Some of you may know from other Canadian sites we are selling the farm (relocateding due to work and hoping to set up again somewhere smaller, more manageable in a couple of years) we had an incredibly stressful fall with sick birds and not wanting to sell any while they were sick etc etc. Anyway we have already downsized drastically, down to 9 breeds now. I had offered to share eggs for free plus shipping to people I already now and have had dealings with so as far as I know am booked up sending eggs from the remaining birds. If you could take me off the first page list completely that would be awsome. If my 2 old sumatras ever lay this winter, I would still be able to send some of their pure fertilized eggs, they are Mcmurrays and extremely friendly-like to get in my coat etc. I'll update my profile with the breeds I still have. I am always happy to answer questions comparing the breeds, we have been so lucky to have so many.

Oh I totally another Brit too, still have the accent! Skeffling is in East Yorkshire!

Currently I only have chickens, (21 RIR) and I finally convinced DH on getting more fowl. I know its only January but I will be looking for the following DAY OLD CHICKS, because I simply do not have an incubator :-( I only want one male of each breed but with day olds I know its super hard to tell what sex they are.

4 Turkeys
2-4 ducks
partridge and pheasants, Quail (10 of each will be more than enough)
2-4 geese
10-15 Hens - any of these breeds or even a mix (Ameraucanas, brahmas, Andalusian if at all possible, delawares, dominiques, EE's, marans, plymouth Rocks, Welsummer)

I am not specifying breeds (other than the hens) because I have gone through loads of pictures and I think they are all so gorgeous I simply can't make up my mind on what breeds I really want lol. The only thing I REALLY know is that I want to get my birds from Canadian BYC members, instead of the hatchery I got my girls from.

If you are going to have what I need please PM me, so we may arrange something for the up-coming Spring :)

Thank you,

Ema

Ema it may help if you tell us what it is you want to do with your other fowl.... meat, eggs?

Oops...kinda forgot to add that in.....Eggs and pets....I never really thought about meat birds, though I often threaten one of my hens she will become stew if she attacks me again...lol.....

Are there any Canadians willing to ship hatching eggs in the spring? Or anyone close enough I could pick up eggs from them?
I am looking for Silkies, Polish, Brahmas, Sultans, or other feather footed or top hat smaller size birds. I am open to mixes.
I would only want about 6 or 8 eggs at most to hatch under a Silkie. I am not sure when she will go broody, but I can try to stimulate it when the weather gets better.
My plan is to keep the girls for eggs and either eat or re-home the boys. (preferably re-home as pets)
Thanks.
