A lady i work with her niece found a baby Canadian Goose in Wal-mart parking lot and no other geese around so she brought it home, apparently because i have chickens my co workers immediately pointed me out to this lady, who ask many questions she called TWA , said it cried all the time so she brought it to me after work today, OMG im in LOVE

here is the problem, it can't walk , without falling over....spraddle leg i guess , does ANYONE know anything about Geese that could help me out here, i put it in with my teenage chicks cuz there social flocks like chickens, at first my chicks went crazy, but i just came back from checking on them, and awwww it's all nestled in with them, so there buddys, but im very concerned at the fact obviously this Goose has a hard time standing and walking ( thinking maybe moma abandoned it because of this little defect ) or maybe it couldn't keep up , but i am determined to see it thru this , allow it to feather out and release it back into the wild any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

PS will take photos and publish tomorrow, were having tornados all around tonight so im pretty much on weather watch

you could give it the Vit E and Vit B complex I told a lady about with a duckling
her duckling healed nicely
they need neurolodigal vit E and Vit B complex for nervous disorder

you will however NEED to take a eye dropper

(1 and feed the gosling and chicks water with apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp ACV to pt of water

Do this till after the gosling is better. Should be able to put the ACV water in a small waterer for the gosling and if left with the chicks for them also
2 tbsp of ACV per gallon of water till bird is better than once or twice a week

(2 immediately give the gosling 1000 mg capsule of liquid Vit E by cutting the end of the capsule and taking the vit E capsule and let the oil run into the chicks beak

(3 also need to crush a vit B complex pill in a tbsp and put it into a tsp of water and put it in their beaks after it is disolved
Do both Vit's twice today then for 7 days till you see some improvement in the gosling

then give twice a week for two weeks should see much improvement

(4 generally the shock of a new arrangement will cause birds to have this nerve damage

(5 after today I would see if the gosling will eat a
natural probiotic wet mash
2 tsp of dry crumbles
4 tsp of milk sweet, sour or buttermilk
1 tbsp of non flavored yogurt
mix good and put the
vit E liquid as directed in the wet mash
and crumble the Vit B complex tablet in a tabsp and add to the wet mash

(6 Do this twice a day for 7 days to see if the gosling gets better
then do this once a day for another week then once a week for a while
this should give the nervous system some stability

(7
you can email by PM for more information and include this inf so I remember what is happening

ok got quickie photo with phone camera , sorry it's not that great but IM STILL asking for help or answers as to why this gosling can't walk without her little webbers flyin out from under her??

As long as you don't give it any medicated feed or feed with to much protein.
Good Luck with your little sweetie!

Oh water, water, water.......they love to splash and play. No swimming though.......still too young without the moms oil to float. It will drown, so keep an eye on him when he's in the water.

And YOU take care.......tornados......scary!! Be careful!!!
