Hello to all!
I am from a small town in Ontario, Canada right across the pond from Detroit, Michigan. My Husband, our 2 children (1 and 3) and our 6 yr old Standard Schnauzer Dog have recently decided to adopt some urban chickens for our yard. We live in a suburban area and are on a quest to be as self-sufficient as possible while still living in our urban subdivision.
We have purchased a chicken coop with run and will be devoting an area of our lot to house our Chickens. The plan is to get 4 Barred Plymouth Rock chicks to raise and supply our family with eggs and of course some fluffy adorable pets. We have been looking through the BYC Forum for a few weeks now in our preparations for the "chick adoption" and look forward to sharing our triumphs, failures and advice. We should be getting our chicks within the next 2 weeks and can't wait to get "CRACKIN!"
So excited!
