That must suck having to work the night shift on the long weekend.
Hope you get more land soon!! I know what you mean about wanting to have a farm farm!! We have 72 acres, rent most of land to a farmer who has cattle and grows hay. We decided to use some of "our" land and got some horses. Now we have the chickens, although most of them are going to be "meat" in September. My hubby wants to get some calves to raise, and I'd love to have some goats and the kids want a pig and other cute farm pets.
I also want a donkey, and another horse. (even though I don't ride, someday maybe!!)
We've got all this land it would be nice to have it all to ourselves!!!!
I was looking up some of the "Osbourne" surnames in the Clark area, back in the 1901 or 1911 census, can't remember, but there was a Cornel Osbourne, but I'm not sure exactly where abouts in Clark he lived. I need to go onto the Ancestory.com site to find more info, so if you have the lot number and concession number, where you are, I may be able to find a link.
Also on the Ancestory.com site, there is a free place where you can post questions for anyone you are looking for from the past, lots of people have links.( there is a Durham area on it!) So was your house know as the Wooden Carousel a well know place( I've never heard of it before, LOL )Do you know any other names of people that lived in your house??
If you want, you can email me @ [email protected], if it's easier for you!!
Hope your long weekend of working is almost over!!
Trish
