Canadians check in here....

One question, since you live here in Canada with me, what do you do for bantams in the winter? I sometimes get -50 C where I live and it's the first year I've done bantams.
This past winter was my first with bantams. They had an insulated, but not heated coop with pine chips, hay & straw. They seemed to do ok. Freezing water was the biggest problem.

As far as shows go, I know that CHB is going to be @ k-days. There is a show in vermillion July 26-28. CHB's fall show will be in Olds on Nov 3-4. There's a "double poultry show" (not sure what that is) on Jan 19 in stony plain. Usually there's a show in Westlock in feb/mar.

I bought a heated water for them, will that help? I have a massive insulated barn with ventilation systems installed. Thanks for the show info!

It should work, yes. I live off grid solar, so haven't tried anything like that myself. The sun is too low on the horizon to keep the batteries charged enough in the winter.
