Candeling and hatching diary.

Heh! I watch weird TV.... there's also a Swiffer commercial with an old couple and the wife calls her husband Mortie... I think I secretly wish my husband was named Mortie.

Anyway, lockdown today! No pips or anything yet.

I love that commercial with the lady and her Mortie. Do we ever hear the wife's name? I used to have a client and his wife who were just like that couple, only she acted like she was juiced up on high test caffeine all the time. I couldn't get out of that house without nearly busting my gut laughing. The other wonderful commercial is the lady who is vision impaired, who calls her kitty in from outdoors... then you see a fat raccoon waddling into the house. The next scene shows her in bed, saying "night-night" to the "kitty" with the coon stretched out on the foot of her bed. Why can't regular programming be as much fun as the ads?

Chicken related: Day 4, no veining, temps good.

This is day 18 on this set, lockdown! There are only 5 that made the cut out of a box that I had mailed, and as you can see one of them almost didn't make it... had to repair it with nail polish! But it's doing ok I think. That is the only one out of this five that I think could not make it right now- but who knows? None of them could make it so, I'm just trying to stay positive.

I closed my incubator about two hours ago- temp on top of the eggs is down to 99 which has been hard to do, temps keep rising in there. Humidity you can see is at 62%.

I put 21 eggs into lock down last night and have another 40 going into lockdown today fingers crossed for good luck glad I will be too busy to be worrying about them.

OK so I took pictures of all 26 eggs in the Styrofoam incubator. I will get pictures of the ones in the box after Once Upon A Time. 1-14 are 10 days old. The rest are 3 days.

Any advice on which should go, stay, need more or less humidity?

These pictures are a few days ago.

Really hard to tell from pics some look like obvious clears in the first 14 and there is one in the second batch that looks liike a blood ring but I am bad and don't get rid of anything until lockdown I have yet to have an egg stink.

I have limited experience, but here goes.

3,4,6,9 and a couple of others look like they may not have been fertilized? 14 looks like a blood ring to me. 11 is cracked, do you need to repair it or are you going to let it be? Not sure about evap on the air sacs though, someone with lots of experience might have better words on that. Many look okay to me.

11 was fixed with clear nail Polish. I rechecked today and EVERY egg in the second batch, except 15 have veins and or embryos. Even the goose and green egg. Both of which I was praying for. In gonna leave then alone Tull lockdown for the first eggs which is in a week.
