I candled eggs today and two of them appeared behind the others. The one looked like this: https://www.backyardchickens.com/image/id/5624984
but with a slightly larger yolk.Would the egg be infertile? The other one looked more full but slightly behind the others, and I couldn't see a heart and or veins.

Today is the 4th day in the bator.

Other than that, my eggs are looking good!

I would say its too early to tell, its best to wait until day 10-14 to be sure.

good luck on your hatch!

Since it's your first time, give them till day 10 or so to make a determination. When you learn what exactly you are looking for, you'll be able to see the faintest veins at about 65 hours or so, in the lightest shelled eggs.

It is nearly the 105th hours. All of my other eggs have a large dark mass with the heart(I think) and the veins can clearly be seen. This egg has a small dark mass, I can't see a thing. (the other eggs I could see what I figured to be the heart at day two)

Day two you can likly see a quarter sized ring of blood. If the suspect egg does not look like the rest, go ahead and toss.

This is a pic of a 100 hr egg from my candling thread. The dark mass is the embryo's body.
