I folded a piece of aluminum foil up ( so that there were 4 layers) . then just wrapped it around my flashlight... then I can crunch the foil to the size I needed for the egg

THE candler:

...........................................................................................................................................................
I have d'uccle and bantam cochin eggs under my broody - They're due 4/30 (they were tucked under my girl on 4/9)

I candled the eggs yesterday - and sadly it seems that only 1 Cochin egg is truly thriving, but a good number of the d'uccle eggs are doing quite well.

I was having difficulty getting the picture just right to see inside the egg - I think I need a stronger flashlight

...
(I ended up removing 3 eggs - 2 that I'm sure were nothing, and 1 egg that my sneaky little EE girl snuck in with her at some point ( x( she's best friends with my broody girl).

I'll try to post them in order - but I didn't keep track of which eggs I took multiple pictures of at different angles... but I know this

the Ordered I candled them are :
1 - cochin (no)
2- duccle (no)
3- cochin (no) ... but I left these all with her anyway

Now these pictures ARE NOT IN ORDER (but the number next to them does correspond with the number I wrote on the egg- so if you can read that in the picture than that is the number/egg/breed I've listed ...

The eggs that I removed - I want to crack - but I haven't yet ... I'm nervous ... (afraid if there really is something then I'd feel bad) ...

... do you see something I don't in the "no" eggs? ...

*ETA - the first dated pictures are not correct they were taken yesterday - but I switched from using my kodak easy share - to using my nikon d 60 ...
