Candled the chukar eggs!!

Hey Tony aka steelshot....candled the chukar eggs I got from you. You sent 18...one cracked.....so out of 17 eggs in the bator....16 ARE GROWING!!! Can't wait till they hatch!

Wow! That's great! I am planning on getting some eggs from him, to go along with the 4 birds I already have. Just do your research on hatching them. I had 12 eggs, that I picked up 'locally'. 1 of them quit early, and of the remaining 11, I had only 7 hatch. 3 of the 7 died. I had to help them out (the 3 that died), they were stuck. The other 4 eggs that didn't hatch were also stuck, they had pipped into the air cell or pipped the shell and couldn't get out. So just make sure you know what you're doing when hatch-time comes! Mrs. AK sent me a link to a report on chukars that said they are hard to hatch. Not the incubating part, just the hatch........
