Candled today...disappointment

Oh ok. I kinda confused though. Should I chunk them inot the woods, or dispose of them properly because ther are almost living animals, well, sorta.

I usually just toss them into the woods away from any of my chickens and away from the house. If not, just wrap them up and toss them in the trash. As long as they are under a week old or so, you can also put them down the garbage disposal.

I candled the eggs again.I took some pics of the eggs. I also marked the ones with the bloodrings so that I can dispose of them tomorrow.

This is one of the eggs. It has all the little tiny white dots on it. Is it good or should I dispose of it also?

This is the egg that the light dosen't pass through easily, but the black is big. I don't think it should be this big at only six days. What is the lighter colored bubble thing??

Thanks for the help!

The little white dots are the shell of the egg showing that it is porous. The reason the second is darker is most likely because the shell is probably thicker. I say tomorrow you toss the bad ones with the rings and hold on tight and try not to open the bator again for 7 full days. The less you open the bator, the better your chances at chicks will be. Turning is fine, but out and candling a lot isn't so good.

You can challenge yourself and try not to candle again till day 18 too. It will be for the best.

Edit: Oh, the light spot, that is the air cell you are seeing. What is your humidity like? I would up it because that air cell seems to be a bit too large for just day 7. The shells are porous so they will lose their water too fast if the humidity is too low.

Thanks Silkie. This is the first candling, and I don't plan on candling much anymore. I don't like the eggs being out of the bator, just like you suggested
