Are ameraucana eggs hard to candle at four days? I have shipped eggs that were not delivered until seven days after they were mailed. They arrived really shook up with severe detached air cells. They have been incubated for four days now and I cannot see any signs of veining. Are they a loss or are blue eggs harder to see through?

The blue eggs I have incubated were hard to see through. Only one in the whole batch was very clear, almost like a white egg, it had less blue pigment as well. that egg lit up like a white egg on candle.

I would give them until day 7 and candle again. if you still have clears you are questioning, I leave them in until day 10 to know for sure. by day 10 you will see a very well defined dark "eye" and so by contrast any clears will be obvious and you can throw them out with confidence.

Thank you so much!! I have waited so long to get true ameraucana chicks and the entire experience has been disappointing. It helps so much to still have hope for these eggs. Incubating eggs is stressful enough without the worry of eggs being shook up or being too old and these have both issues. I can wait ten days. Thank you again.
