Is that a Marans egg in your video? If so, what candler are you using?https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/helping-candle-dark-eggs.1362626/
I had been working on this and I decided to post now and just add to it as I go along.
Yes. I have Black Copper and Blue Marans. These are their eggs.Dark Marans eggs are extremely hard to candle, so I always rely on watching the air cell through incubation. You can also rely on weight but I'm not good at keeping a log with the information but many others are.

It came with a rechargeable battery and charger, but I don't know where you can get one now. Apparently they are sold out.![]()
Did you bother to click on the link? @BirdsBeesTrees DID candle very dark Marans eggs. They weren't making any kind of a sales pitch, just sharing what they used because they were asked. If you are going to post a question, don't be rude when you get a perfectly helpful response.I think my light is plenty strong enough. Anyone can post a pic of a white egg. This is a 55 flowery. I was asking for tips With very dark BCM eggs. Not a sales pitch. Thanks anyway. View attachment 2096845
