Candling Duck Eggs?

I'm not too far along... but we always want to be candling, don't we? So when do you candle your duck eggs?

AND do you candle when you go into lockdown?

There are 100's of notes on candling so it is a personal preference. I personally candle at 5 days (start of when you can see some development), then 7 days - then every week after so 14 days, 21 days they right before lockdown on 25 days. Of course there are plenty of reasons to candle more frequently (I have small kids so they like to see them as often as possible). For the most part you should be good until lockdown - then I would discourage any candling to avoid issues like shrink wrapping or interrupting the processes.
