Candling eggs---half the eggs candle one color, what does it mean?

Thanks for the advice!

Braham, I'm not really having any trouble candling. I can see in them. Just not sure why some are one color and the other half another color!

When I turn my eggs at night I put the egg on top of a flash light (dark room, no lights on but the one flash light)and I wrap my hand around the flash light and the egg so the light shines through the egg. After a couple of days in the incubator if you turn the egg you'll see veins and a black dot which starts to beat (becomes more evident the longer it's in the incubator).

you will not know till you start incubating them. Give them till day 10 than check you should see something by than.

I'm on day 6 (or day 7 depending on how you count) and still half red half clear/yellow color. The 6 red still aren't showing a yolk area. The clear ones show a yolk, but no veining yet.

Poor little babies!

I'll check again in a couple of days.

Usually there should be a good bit of veining going on, but I'd give them a couple more days. I hope you have some babies there!

Just an update. I kept the eggs for about 14 days. One started oozing and none of them had veins so I threw them all out.

Soooo sad, REALLY wanted some white show girls!

:aww
I HATE it when that happens!! But it does, and often, with shipped eggs. Don't give up... you'll get your showgirls!
