candling Green eggs?

lol yeah, something smells wrong in our bator right now. UGHHH!

I am having the same problem trying to candle my eggs on day 7. I can see through the lighter green ones but these dark ones I see nothing. I tried even with the hole in box idea and the toilet paper roll idea and I can't see anything. I guess I will just have to wait

Get a cheap LED flashlight, the higher the lumens the better. Sit the egg directly on the flashlight. I have Austrolorps and some of them lay a darker egg than others. It's not perfect, but it works.

Tantor. I have tried with the flashlight and in a dark room. No luck seeing anything,. Maybe next week I will see something

Ok. I have a stinky one in one of my bators. What originally brought Me to this thread was that I have a mystery light green egg and I don’t know what it is but now that I see about this stinky that worries me I cannot figure out which one it is but I sure can smell it but when smelled individually- I cannot figure it out.

I put a measuring cup on top of the glass of the spotlight - (don't laugh) I then used a plastic coffee can lid, with a hole cut out - even with the lid being black it still didn't block the light, so I had to get a piece of thick fabric to put OVER that, and put an elastic around to hold it down.

Hey it worked!

Only eggs I had trouble with were the green POUROUS eggs, those were very difficult to see into.
When in doubt, just leave the egg in the bator till the end. (unless something smells wrong)
