Day 14 of my Royal Palm eggs.

I've candled my BR turkey eggs as early as 5 or 6 days and been able to see veins, very very faintly though. I'm a candling addict though.... OK, its a sickness really...

I just put 14 BR eggs into lockdown and some were even starting to push up into the air sack!!! Hopefully we'll have some pips soon!!! I also have 3 shipped eggs in lockdown as of yesterday and I've NEVER had shipped eggs last this long... please send good vibes/prayers there way. We're at 4500 ft elevation and this is my 5th shipment (and last if these don't hatch!)
oops, sorry for the hijack!!!

we've got royal palms at a week in a half in the incubator right now.

shells are too thick to see the fine vessels. however, at a week and a half, an infertile egg is like a lit up globe, an infertile egg has a dark band, almost, and they are moving. one, almost looked like a wing or leg was waving (slowly) off to the side of the band, another looked like it was rubbing its head against the shell up and down on my side of the egg.

out of 22 eggs in the first batch, 7 were bad eggs. the rest are alive and moving. the next tray up is at a half week old (set saturday), and i think there are about 14 in that one (friend we got them from had 3 birds, but something got one of the hens). those are a bit too new to see anything, other than the infertile ones.

(not saying that i AM seeing wings or heads, just that is what it seemed like to me; i'm not even sure what is formed at this point)
