Higher temperatures speed up development in the egg. You may have hot spots in your incubator.

When a chick hatches really early or really late, it is more apt to have problems. What kind of incubator are you using? What are your temp and humidity reading? Are these shipped eggs? Are you able to post a picture of your candled egg in question?

Temp has a fluctuation between 97 -101.3 from day to night tried to tell hubby we needed to control climate in house but this time of year we don't use heat or air. I'll notch down the control during the day I guess hope it isn't too late.

That explains everything. I had one, used it once, temp spike to 110 degrees overnight so I renamed the Murder-bator and sold it. 36 eggs gone.
