Hello. We are trying to hatch some Easter eager eggs. We had them shipped as no supplier was close to us. We were on day 10 yesterday and tried to candle the eggs. Many of them seemed too opaque to see anything. Some we saw some “shadows “ or masses on one side. Are those saddled? What about the ones that were too dark to see through?
Has anyone else had this issue with Easter egger hatches?
Thanks in advance

The air cell is a clear sack at the blunt end of the egg. It should be distinguishable from a developing chick. Saddled or wobbly air cells are common in shipped eggs and can cause lower hatch rates but some hatch with no trouble. I’d give them a couple more days and candle again. You can find charts online of what to look for. For the ones that are too dark to see in you’ll just have to leave them be and see if they hatch.
