Candling question

I am on day 5 in the bator, first time, and last night we candled the eggs. There is a black mass that will move when you tilt the egg, going back up to the top of the egg. Could this just be a yolk, or am I looking at the start of a chick? The mass is about the size of a yolk, and round as well. Bator is at 100.2, at 60%. Homemade bator. 10 eggs in bator, they are BR eggs.

Thanks!

You might want to drop your humidity a little bit. But yes, could be an embryo - keep an eye out for veining in the next few days. Can you take a photo?

Actually, I had a mishap with the camera two days ago. Had it outside taking pics, and set it down.. I forgot about it, and it rained on it that night. $400.00 camera too. I have been afraid to put the batteries back in.. I figured I would try sometime today.

Ahh! Camera works! Just took these,... I'm not exactly the best photographer though. I wish I knew what I was looking for...

Jason, definitely hold on to those for a few more days to see what develops. Does your camera have a macro function? Would definitely be helpful to see the small details, such as veining.

Yes, It does have a macro function, and I have a 102mm macro lens for it as well.. Camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2.. I never though about using the macro feature. Used to use it all the time for my saltwater fish tanks...

Jason, the pics are a little bit fuzzy, but I think I see the "spider" signature - veining surrounding an embryo. Looks like a spider, sort of.

Keep the pics coming!
