Candling question

WOW great link! Thanks! I will leave well enough alone for the next couple days, and check again then. I have heard it is bad to candle too much..(or handle the eggs too much).. I will update with some new pics in a couple days.

As long as your hands are clean and you keep the temperature and humidity up, then you can candle daily. But if you have the willpower to stay away, then more power to you.

Your hatch date is right around mine - best of luck!

Hm... not sure with that one. With porous eggs it can sometimes be hard to see veining in the earliest stages. Be sure to take lots of photos in 2-3 days, and upload them!

So, while turning the eggs tonight, my daughter HAD to see them under a light. I have 10 eggs in, and we could see the spiderweb of blood vessels in 7 of the 10.. Now the excitement starts!

A really bright LED flashlight.. I think it has 6 bulbs in it...

So, after messing with the eggs last night, I wake up this morning, and the bator is running at 87f..

Best I can figure is while my daughter and I were messing with things last night, one of us must have bumped the stat .. I am still playing with it to get it back where it was, but when I do I think I will super-glue the stat adjustment so this will not happen again. I am going to continue with this batch, and see if by some maracle they pull through it. If not, my hens will give me another try..
