Candling question

I am hoping they do,... but don't really expect them to. Got the temp back up to 99.6, humidity is 52%. I glued the stat knob in place. No more accidents for me!

Jason,

What thermometer and hygrometer are you using?

Also, in reading of your problems with the coon on a different posting (with LOTS of pictures), looking at the trees, etc...........I got to wondering where it is you live. It looks to me like somewhere "down South", such as Carolina or Georgia?

I am using an accurite temp/humidity guage from walmart. I also have a glass bulb type I use every now and then to verify accuracy on the temp side. Not sure if it is accurate on the humidity side though..In the past I cut the "OUT" probe off, and used it for another project. I have since re-attached it, but it is not scaling right.. The top temp represents the actual temp. Disregard the other one. Heres a pic of it:

Heres the stat on my bator - (glued in position due to our little error the other night)

This is a PVC pipe I drilled holes in, and used to cover the exposed electrical (replacing the glass tube) on the aquarium heater stat assembly along with the heating element assembly:

The rest are just pics of my incubator:

Junkmanme, I live about 3 miles from Springfield MO. Have not captured any critters in a few days in the trap. I think the bottom wire I added to the electric fence is doing its job and scaring everything off.

Jason,

That is an INTERESTING and UNIQUE incubator!

The heating element is just ONE (?) "strip" of metal? Does it glow when active? (like the wire coils of an electric heater?)

I once spent 2 weeks in Columbia, MO attending an MFA Insurance Agent School (now called "Shield of Shelter", I believe). Columbia is a fair distance North of your location. Columbia was an attractive, pleasant town in those days (1973). Nice University there, too!

I also live about 3 miles "out-of-town"....much more comfortable out her "in the sticks" !

yep, just one strip of metal.... What you see is actually the housing around the element. It is "sealed in metal" so to speak. The element inside the metal heats up the outer metal housing. Hope that made sense.. lol

Columbia is about 3 hrs north of us... right on I-70
