Do I candle all of the eggs or just a few in the batch? I am worried about the temp falling too much if I can't work fast enough..This is my first time.

Welcome to BYC! I usually put some in an egg carton, then shut the bator. I candle all the eggs day 10 and before lockdown. Hope this helps. Happy hatching! Deb

You can just candle 2 or 3 if you want to see what the air sack looks. Knowing what else to look at takes time an practice. Beginners should just smell the incubator every day an threw away any that start to smell.

I wouldn't worry to much about taking a long time to candle the eggs. Yeah, it takes time. Hens will come off their nest for 10 to 15 minutes. Some even longer.
