Candling

I tried to candle my quail eggs but there to thick and dark colored to see in the egg. does anyone have any recommendations of what to do?

How many days along are they?
At 6 days you can candle and they will be lime green if there sterile and reddish if they have a live embryo.
At 14 days they will be solid.
I haven't been able to figure out mucht. But it helps to at least know that.

They have already hatched out but I tried on day 8 and 12 but I couldn't tell very much and I'm ready to put some more in the incubator.
