Did you guess that based on slope? I’m putting my eggs to incubate today and I’d love your insights on the pre lockdown candling.

Yes I do keep track of the slope on the large end of the egg. If you candle the point, after day 16 it should be dark. If you can see light in the point, and you let egg be large end up during incubation, the the egg may still develop but hatch later than day 21.

This above is a good day 18 look. A dark clean line. By the fat end, no clear fluids or veins showing. Not a "fuzzy line."
Below is also day 18. It will still hatch, just not as soon as the one above. You can see by the line has more clear fluid look and no slope.

Both have dark pointed ends though, which is good.
