Can you guess what he was hiding? Also sorry if the Canelo posts get annoying, feel free to tell me to shut up!

Nuts! :rantHe is not, in fact, a gelding. No one noticed but the farrier. He was even penned next to 2 fillies and a mare at the vet clinic and didn't act out. We also had to walk past a stud who squealed at him as we were leaving but he didn't squeal back. Really annoyed with myself for being dumb and the seller for being a little liar. (No way that was an accident, he specifically mentioned Canelo is a gelding and he had to explain the difference between stud and gelding to his mom while I was there) Bless the farrier for having observational skills.
Also his feet aren't as badly messed up as we thought! His knees are still kinda ugly but the feet were just in terrible shape and hadn't been well-trimmed before. The poor nutrition in his past life was also a contributing factor. The spot that looked like a blown abscess was actually a piece of gravel working it's way out. Farrier said with regular visits his feet will be good and also complimented him on being well-behaved.
In other news, Canelo went to school with me on Halloween so he could greet trick or treaters and did really well, except for getting his head slightly stuck in the fence taking a treat. He was also not a fan of a little girl in a unicorn costume. Two people even tried to buy him, which is crazy because he still looks kind of terrible.
He's getting to experience fresh green grass for about an hour a day now and is so happy! And he didn't even kick the 2 people who palpated his testicles. Very proud of him! Ok, can now shut up about the horse:D briefly at least.

My great niece spent all of 20 minutes with him but now he's her horsey:lol:

He was only here for a little bit but made lots of tiny humans and college students happy.

I didn’t see your earlier posts but am guessing you rescued this handsome horse?
Not quite rescued- found him on craigslist just looking for a trail horse, went to meet him in person and he looked terrible but was a sweetheart so I bought him. It was more of an irresponsible purchase type of situation.

I don't know if I've ever posted on any of your Canelo threads...but I have been reading them, and I think you're wonderful for giving this poor horse another chance! Sad when people don't treat them right. My trainer has rescued horses before and turned them into lesson horses. You can really find some diamonds in the rough!

And wow. I would be mad if someone lied to me about my horse's gender! That's crazy.

@Skye'sDucks-Thank you :D
I think a lot of it was lack of knowledge on the previous owner's part, but that can only excuse so much. With any luck he'll still be a kid horse when he feels better. Your trainer sounds awesome!
@CatWhisperer-I hope so too! Fingers crossed
