I am wondering how the birds get canker? I feed the doves outside and I caught one dying and it had canker. I spotted more today that are not well and think it spread to some of the others. Where can I find/buy Acidified Copper Sulfate? Can I put this in the water I have out for them when I can find some?
I really want to save the doves that come to my yard! It would be sad to see them all dead.
Thank you in advanced!

Canker requires ongoing treatment since surviving birds become carriers of the disease. Wild birds would have to be penned to ensure that their sole source of treated water is readily available for them to drink.
I admire your willingness to try to treat and save them, but it's best to let nature take its course.

Okay, but I would still like to know where to find the Acidified Copper Sulfate🥰
And what causes canker? I would like to know if possible☺️

Murray McMurray Hatchery has a good price on acidified copper sulfate, but you can also find it at Jedds and other online companies. Dosage is 1/4 tsp per gallon of water for 3-5 days. Pigeons are frequently infected with canker, and they spread it to other birds by drinking i from the same puddles or water sources.
