My Dill pickles definitely don't taste store bought but I like them much better. Each pint gets 1tsp salt, 1tsp mustard seed, 1tsp Dill seed, 1/2tsp peppercorns, 1/2tsp Dill weed, 1/2tsp hot pepper flakes and a couple cloves of garlic. I'll add 1 bay leaf or some pickle crisp to each jar if I have it. 1/2 and 1/2 solution of white vinegar and distilled water. I will also add fresh dill flowers if I have them growing. Use the same recipe for my Dilly beans. Bread and Butter pickles I am still working on. Many recipes I have found I just don't care for.Bread and butter pickles, the only kind i can make. Love them!
I've never made an edible dill pickle, and have given up. Also sweet gerkins, better from the store than mine.

Same here. I don't mind the canned cubes but if I have the freezer space frozen is my preference.Only freezer is way to keep it leanred that from Grandma like at 6
Yes! I do love ACV for many recipes, just not in my picklesThe only thing I use ACV for is in my homemade salad dressings.

Oh yes. Only way to puree it.Thank you! When freezing do you cook it beforehand?
I'll have to check it out! I like to add my spices right to the jars. Don't like cooking them with the brine. Never turns out right.I like your recipe, sounds good. For bread and butter pickles, the Good Housekeeping recipe (red and white checked cookbook) is really good!
