Canning and Home preserving

The hardest thing I did was start going five hours between meals with no snacking. The first week was horrible! After three hours I felt like I was starving :thbut I had a big drink of water and felt better. Next thing I knew, three more hours had passed. Now that I've gotten used to it, it's ... lol, I almost said "a piece of cake," snort! After each meal I do five minutes of exercise, usually walking in place if my ankle will let me, or sit-ups in my recliner. Pathetic, kind of, but I am losing weight and shaping up, and I FEEL better and am healthier. It's a journey. Every step is a victory. :)
I fast from 6 pm to 12 pm every day. I drink a ton of water in that time. It really helps me digest what I've eaten and cleans out my system before I eat again. Every morning when I wake up I drink 32 oz of water usually in a few seconds. I love water

I am diabetic as well type 2. But when I lost my first seventy pounds the Doc took me off My meds. First by cutting them in half then off completely because my blood suger wasnt readable. Same for the Cardeologist... I am instructed to stop the last blood pressure medicine if my blood pressure remains at 117 consistently... My heart is finally relaxing and Hopefully the muscles are loosing their Shoe leather like consistency.

I had a lot of things going to allow for gastric sleeve surgery. The Tummy tuck will be exciting, My eyes are drooping I hope they will take care of that. Or I will have to wear my hare long and tight up very tight with a pony tail.... But I hope to get more done after its all gone. My own dime though.

That is awesome you are off a bunch of pills already!
:wee

The doctor increased mine. I still want to beat it. I am not sure if I can but I am giving it a good fight.

:fl That you gain more and more mobility.

ooh situps in the recliner... Awesome. @Kiki gave me some stretch bands for exercising. I could use those to help my failing left leg. Did you know you cant get int the bathtup without being able to lift one of your legs high enough to get in..?? Thats pathetic..... :::Snort::: LOL. We each have our obsticles in life... some little some big... this is a little one... but Aggrivatting.

We recently got rid of the tub and just have a nice shower with a seat. I love it but have to put a towel or washcloth on the seat or I slip-slide off, lol.

Hi Deb, I'll be following along :pop I've canned most of what you're looking to work with. I do color outside the lines from time to time, but I have the benefit of a biologist and a food science expert to help me gauge my risk. Fish is the most difficult because it's so fragile. Beans are the easiest. I always can my meats in stock of some sort or oil. Happy Canning.
I was re reading some back posts and I saw yours. Which meats do you can with oil and what kind of oil and Why. I am very interested in this. I know I can can Tuna with oil... but that is all.

And what does your food scientist say about Canning ghee. I would LOVE to have it in a shelf stable container. Without the milk solids in it I suspect outside of the foam factor it should be safe?
