I have never had a chick die after being hatched. I hatched Cream Brabanters from eggs
last April. Had a bad hatch out from eggs of this stock and of the three who survived i have lost one today (2weeks old) with classic symptoms of AE. Of the remaining 2, 1 looks iffy and the other is vigorous. Any luck with vitamin therapy?-should I not hatch any more from this stock?
Bummed- never had to deal with anything like this before! the Adults are healthy!

All my adults are from eggs I hatched from 1 source. This is second generation. My adults are healthy and vigorous

What makes you say AE right away? The only chicks that I've heard of on this forum having AE came from one source / hatchery. If that commercial hatchery was not your source, you may have a different illness.

But yes, AE it can be passed from infected hen to hatching egg.

When you say they have the classic symptoms - what are those symtoms that you're seeing?

There are many experts on this forum (not me) who might recognize what is happening if you give much more detailed info.
