Cannot figure out why my chicks are dying!!!

I think you may be dealing with cocciosis. They need to be started on Corid as soon as you can get it. I also would call the breeder, but it sounds as if they are sick and they might deny that they are having a problem. In the meantime, you can give them buttermilk or milk, and that is supposed to help until they are on meds.

could you ask the person you got the chicks from what they think you should do? Are you using metal bowls to water them from, vinegar with interact with metal?

Is they any chance they are coming in contact with rodent bait, or other poison's like fertilizer, or weed killer. Moldy food will kill them also. Wry neck could put them off balance, but I don't know of chicks dying from it unless people put them down instead of trying to treat them.

Not using any metal containers and the breeder says she has no idea because she has never had this problem before. The feed they are on is medicated so I'm wondering if I should still treat more for possible coccidiosis? Eggcessive, how much milk do I give them? Justin it with the water in the feeder? Our local feed store closed at noon and I had no other options, so if the milk thing works I'd like to try.

hey im sorry for your losses but i do believe that pine bedding is not good for them i would change it to towels or cloth because sometimes they wont know what there food is and end up eating it thinking its food just dont do newspaper bedding they can do the splitz which is not good. and mabe just use very little or none at all elyctrolites for a while and see if that helps. also make sure they still have ventilation if they have a heat lamp it sends off radiation which isnt too good for them. goodluck and hope this helps.
