CANNOT ID CHICKEN

The 5 toes and dark skin makes me think Silkie hybrid.

Do a search here on BYC for Southern Ramblers. Apparently a few people have bought them from different TSC's. They are a Silkie hybrid of some sort.

wow! They look extremely similar to my 2 black chickens except they lack the gold/orange lacing.
there was another black chicken that I lost (not pictured in this forum) and now I believe she was a southern rambler.

I imagine the color of them vary depending on what colors the hatchery uses to create them.

oh okay, good to know. All features match except that lacing so it seems very likely.
Thank you! Here are a couple photos of the two of them. The one described in this forum is the gold laced one, and the other is the one that looks identical to what you suggested is southern rambler.

I still think Ayam Cemani or a mix with it in it, a Kadaknath which is an all black bird with black comb and wattles as well as black legs and feet. Again, I don't know how common they are, a Swedish Black AKA Svarthöna. All have black skin as well as black combs and wattles, legs and feet. With the brown streaks in the feathers it could be a mix with one of these breeds in it.
Can asia black have black comb and wattle?
The breeds I listed above are the only black birds that I know of that has black skin besides Silkie and they definitely aren't Silkie and black comb, wattles, legs and feet. It could be a specialty breed from Hoover. Some hatcheries work on their own breeds. The only hatchery in the US that I know of that have had true ISA Browns is Townline Hatchery in Zeeland, Mich. There are others that claim they have ISA Browns and maybe they are but probably most use either a RIR, NHR male with RIW females or White Rock females.

The Rustic Rambler Parent stock is a cross between a Black Copper Maran Male and a Barred Rock Female.

That's different from the Sountern Ramblers I keep stumbling across by accident. Those appear to be a Silkie hybrid that people have gotten from TSC.

I looked them up too and found "0" on Southern Rambler, maybe a restaurant with that name. Maybe they are only available through whatever hatchery that TSC uses. At one time our TSC used Privett Hatchery, not sure if they still do. We have a farm swap in their parking lot on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays monthly. I always go in to look at the chicks. Our TSC previously sold chicks for about a month around Easter but due to more people wanting chicks they are still selling them. I hope they get back to the op and solve the mystery. Just curious...

Same lol. The only tidbits I found were here when I did a search.

Hello All,

Hoover Hatchery got back to me and confirmed the breed of this chicken as an Asian Black chicken.

Thank you all for your help, I will be ordering one ASAP. If anyone knows of a good source for asian black baby chicks I am all ears!
